the singularity of a thousand

The article 2045: The Year Man Becomes Immortal by Lev Grossman discusses the singularity of mankind and machines. This article was written for any reader who has an interest in technology's growth and what some believe as science fiction man actual come to pass. Grossman discuss how technology is rapidly growing faster and faster, and how in 35 years technology should in theory have a mind of its own. He shows this by showing his readers how a computer could creates music and turn it into art. Since art was seen as something that had to be created by something living. by showing how in his words is to "watch a line blur that cannot be unblurred, the line between organic intelligence and artificial intelligence" (grossman). By placing this right after his intro Grossman is able to grab the reader's attention and continue on in his argument with little other evidence. Since his article was focused mainly on Raymond Kurzweil and his achievements grossman needed little else. He contained a very strong argument that carried authority and respect. All in all this article could catch the eyes on almost anyone and get them interested in the subject and transitioned very smoothly making it a great piece to read.
